Thanks for the clarification!Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15118131996152150797noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9573091.post-51634039614551396292009-11-22T21:03:40.004-07:002009-11-22T21:03:40.004-07:00LOL Well said Laura!LOL Well said Laura!WalkOn Border Collieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13089838325029736656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9573091.post-69847078859807709242009-11-22T21:02:25.431-07:002009-11-22T21:02:25.431-07:00Been there/done that, still there/still doing it! ...Been there/done that, still there/still doing it! LOL You just described exactly what I am going through too. It is a never-ending journey of two steps forward/one step back but oh what a delightful journey it is!<br />Bill Berhow explained the box to me one time: the sheep are in the center of the box and your dog should be going on the outside of all four corners of that box on their outrun. The first two corners would be where they might cross over or start to come in too tight, the back 2 corners are how deep and wide they should be. It helped me visualize how far out my dog should be if I imagined placing 4 stakes/flags/cones in each corner of a square where the dog would be need to be outside of so as not to affect the sheep. Hope that makes a little sense?WalkOn Border Collieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13089838325029736656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9573091.post-24273917307316698422009-11-22T21:00:12.423-07:002009-11-22T21:00:12.423-07:00Thanks Robin!

Now imagine a box shape in between you and the sheep. When you send the dog, he should be bending out parallel to the sheep, not cutting the bottom corner of the box. Then, as he gets to the top of his outrun, he should go around the top imaginary corner of the box. Of course, an outrun shouldn't by truly box-shaped, but it's clearer for me to imagine corners instead of correct curves. Moving around corners is sort of the opposite of slicing in, which is why I can suddenly see Taz slicing when before I couldn't always. Does that make sense at all?Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15118131996152150797noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9573091.post-72214148897166905732009-11-22T20:51:04.132-07:002009-11-22T20:51:04.132-07:00That's awesome! BTW, what do you mean by a box with 4 corners?Robin Frenchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14621708016412756722noreply@blogger.com
